Stirring the Pot at Christmas
by Pr. Peter Braafladt
My Grandma Moore-Braafladt was a first generation citizen of the United States from England and a woman of ritual. One of her annual rites was to prepare English Christmas pudding, a concoction of fruits, suet, mince meat and who knows what else. As it cooked it would fill her home with a pungent aroma as strong as any food I know.
To Hear The Voice
by Pr. Kathleen Braafladt
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105, NRSV"You'll have to keep up with me," I said from the depths of my inflated athletic ego. The year was 1996 and Jacob had agreed to accompany me on his bike while I went for a fast, very fast, aerobic walk.
