Maria Kramer Headshot Lightened Color Corrected Web ResWhat was an important Jesus moment in your life?
I felt Jesus holding my hand all through the pandemic. No matter how sad, uncertain, and isolating it got, my faith was there to give me a hug and tell me everything would be alright again someday.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Telekinesis. If I could make the dishes wash themselves, I’d be the happiest person on earth.

If you could sit down with anyone in the world for coffee, who would it be?
I would love to meet Neil Gaiman, one of my favorite authors. His unique blend of dry humor, abstract imagery, fascination with folklore, and brilliant prose alters the way I look at literature every time I read one of his books.

What’s one of the most embarrassing things you’ve ever done?
When I was little, an older kid convinced me that it would be a hilarious prank to wrap up a roll of toilet paper for a white elephant gift exchange. I did it, and I felt so awful afterward!

Why do you believe in God?
A universe as beautiful and complex as ours must have had some sort of divine inspiration. I believe that any time we laugh or cry or make art in a way that feels bigger than we can humanly handle, we are participating in God’s divine creative network.

What do you like best about working for Jesus and his people?
We live in a world that tends to be very hateful and violent towards whatever it doesn’t understand. I want to show that God is always love, generosity, and acceptance.
