Tori Beavin Headshot WebWhat was an important Jesus moment in your life?
When I was working at a summer camp for at-risk youth, I witnessed Jesus work powerfully in and through many of the kids. It was incredibly beautiful to watch campers open up about their hardships and fears, only to be fully embraced and supported by their peers. I watched some of them truly comprehend the unconditional love God has for them. I experienced a few moments that summer where God’s presence was simply undeniable, and I am forever grateful for the many ways that Jesus encountered all of us.

What is the best vacation place you’ve ever been to?

Probably the North Coast of Northern Ireland or the Scottish Highlands. Both places are incredibly stunning and peaceful.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Definitely teleportation. I would love to have the ability to go anywhere in the world instantly. Teleportation would also allow me to sleep in a bit later!

What’s one of the most embarrassing things you’ve ever done?
Last-minute packing once resulted in me traveling with two stuffed backpacks. When rushing to grab my belongings from an airport security line, I completely fell over. That was a rough start to a long day!

What do you like best about working for Jesus and his people?
As the body of Christ, we are all called to participate in God’s ministry in our daily lives. Jesus is radically loving, just, humble, and merciful, and I can’t think of a better example to follow. I also love how Jesus often encounters us through interactions with other people.

Why Messiah?
I love how intentionally loving, and inclusive Messiah is. I also love being part of a community that is attentive to the Spirit and isn’t afraid to make changes when prompted by the Spirit. Messiah strives to share Christ’s love and grace freely with everyone.
